Does anyone have a pic of a 8.2 diff, taken from the rear of the housing? I have a '71 Nova and recently picked up a used posi unit from what was described as a 8.2. However, There is a possibility that the diff in my car may be a 7.5 - who knows what has been swapped into the car after all of these years? I understand that all '71 novas came freom the factory with 8.2 units, but as I said...
The diff inb my car has a 10 bolt rear cover and the cast "ears" are scallopped.
Any help will be most appreciated.

Pull the plate, and count the gears.
