Default Tire rub

Quick question if I may.......... just bought a 65 Chevy Nova and it's got a rubbing problem on the front fender. Anyone have any thoughts on what tire and wheel specs might solve this problem? Currently the tires and wheels are 215/45/R17..... not good. I think the diameter is like 25 1/2". Whatever wheel I switch to...... I'd like to have the option of adding disc brakes down the road. I think the car came stock with like 7:00 X 14. I'd like to have a little width, like maybe 7.5"........... your thoughts. Thanks

Where is it rubbing? Do you have an aftermarket suspension on it?

Sorry for the delay......... the car has a stock everything in the front end.......... the rub comes the tires catching the fender in the front of the tire while turning. Any guesses on what tire wheel combination would work? Thanks.

There's a rod that on that front corner of the fender what most do is look and see if you loosen the connection you can pull the fender out a little. You can also put a bushing in that bolt. The original front end on these cars stink, Church Boys Racing ($$$$) and Classic Performance Products ($) make much better ones.
