So, I am almost there - thanks for all the previous help you have given me on my truck.
I took the generator somewhere else to have them look at it for me - Got it back in less than 2 weeks - something was over "charging" / "amping" and it caused some plastic to melt. Any $239.00 later - here are some pictures. I put it in the truck and it fired right up. Now my problem before I had it reserviced was that it was always on the negative side of the AMP reading and it never appeared to be charging the battery. Now that I have it back and in place - it is on the plus side of the AMP reading when it is running. So this is how I start the truck:
Turn gas on
Pull choke out.
Place in Full Retard - all the way down (Right side of steering wheel)
Place Throttle (the other side of the retard level on the steering wheel) all the way down (left side of steering wheel)
Press Starter Button
Once it starts - push in choke, push back retard, push back throttle - adjust retard and throttle till it runs smooth.
Now it appears when I pull the retard back the other way - the AMP shoot up to over 14 - and the only way to get the AMP down to 2-6 is by pulling down on the retard lever.
I am not sure what the AMPS should be reading - but I took a video of the AMPS at various stages - and hopefully you can hear me - I turn the lights on to bring the AMPS closer to zero - I read if the AMPS are too high - it will cook the battery - so that is why I turned the lights on to bring down the AMP.
Just wondering where the retard should be while running - what AMPS should Read so as not to cook the battery.
hope that all makes sense. Thanks again for all the help.
