I have a 1979 2WD Chevy truck with a turbo 400 transmission that needs replacing. I have an opportunity to buy a transmission that is newly rebuilt and torque converter. Probem is, the transmission has a short tail shaft on it and mine is long. How hard is it to change the tailshaft, is it a major teardown or just a rear housing change? Thanks!
