350 tbi starting problem
Hey guys I have a 95 k1500 with the tbi motor. I noticed when you first start the truck in the morning it takes a good 5 seconds for it to start when cold. I don't hear the fuel pump turn on when the ignition is on so I have no idea what is wrong with it. But if the truck gets nice and warm it will start right up... Any ideas?
Not starting right away is a good thing. When the engine is cold the oil takes time to get to the top of the motor. I am not a mechanic, but i think the computer tells the engine not to start when its cold so the oil has time to make it to the top.
I have a 1990 305 tbi and i have the same problem. except the colder it is the worse it sounds starting. like when we had that polar vortex in early January in NE Ohio it starts really slow like in slow motion and and when it does start it dies right away.
