I have a 1996 K1500 Chevrolet truck 4WD 5.7L, I had the fuel pump replaced last month as well as the relay. Before I replaced the pump, it wasn't getting fuel pressure. It would just crank, and not start. So I changed the pump and it started about 5 times, then about the 6th time it just kept cranking over not starting, so I was back to the same problem as before. I then replaced the relay and it worked. It's been sitting for a few weeks, went to drive it and it cuts out really bad to the point it dies while driving. Now it's not wanting to start and when it does, it will only stay running for a second then die. Please help! I also wanted to note, that there is a hot wire running from the pump into the relay!? The relay itself is also getting hot to the touch.. If anyone could help me figure out what to do next, besides run this thing off a cliff - it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
