Default 98 Chevy Prism - Gauge Fuse Blowing

I'm having this problem with my 98 prism. Most of the time when i shift from P to R, my gauge fuse will blow, and my A/C and my gauges turn off. I don't know why its doing this, but any help will be accepted!

If you need more info let me know and ill find it out. Thanks!

Look for and damaged wires that may touch any of linkage for the shift mechanism. Look under dash as well as at the transmission. What is the label on the fuse? Do your back up lights work with the blown fuse? More information is really needed!

The label is 10a gauge fuse. Where do I look for damaged wires? the only wires i can find are next to the fuse box. by backup lights, do you mean my regular headlights?

I am talking about any wires that touch the shifter linkage. Either under the hood or under dash that may touch the linkage when it is moved causing a short. You should also look at the backup light circuit for a short.
