I recently got a 99 Lumina 3.1. The car is awesome. Runs perfect after sitting for about 3 years. Put a battery in it, changed the oil and other fluids. But the fuel gauge goes from full to empty. Never reads anything different. Does anyone know the cause of this?

 

The most likely cause is the sending unit in the gas tank. This is part of the fuel pump assembly.
