Hi folks, we have a Chevy Van 30 6.2L 1993 model (RV body 15,000 miles only, used in Summer months, laid up at other times) with an auto transmission fault.

If you select Drive then it only drives in first gear, no matter how fast you drive! We were half-way through a long uneventful journey, when nightfall came I turned on the headlights and not long after the fault appeared when pulling away from standstill. It's a permanent problem now and we had to return home in first gear all the way! Does anyone have any advice? P,R,N are ok. Thanks, Kevin
