Default help

i own a 1999 pontiac sunfire and i just replaced the starter yesterday but i don't remember where the wires connect back to. i know where the small black wire goes but not to sure where the larger black and red wires go, if someone could let me know that would awesome!

Welcome to the forum. The starter on yours (well, starters in general) has two terminals. The B terminal gets the thick red cable from the battery and S terminal, thinner cable that energizes the solenoid when you turn the key to START. There should be a letter B or S next to the terminals.

thanks for the help, got it figured out, was wondering if you could tell my why my car still doesn't want to start, starter works, changed the computer and have a brand new battery for it

That's a tough one. Don't take me wrong but I don't know of anyone who can diagnose your problem from what little detail you offered. Isn't there Sunfire enthusiasts forum somewhere?
