Bought a new set of Hoop II side steps for my 85 and can't Mount the brackets far enough to the rear where they should be because its hitting the fuel tank guard and is waaaaayy too far forward. Any input is greatly appreciated so I don't have to buy new set that WILL fit.

 

it's been awhile but i remember that they were universal at best !
i used to sell them i believe they were made buy carr product's .
