1988 s10 problems
Need a little help I have a s-10 with a 2.5 motor. I have spark so why wont it start with the aid of starting fluid? i think the fuel pump is bad
but wanted to see if the truck would start with starting fluid. I have checked the timing and it's right so why won't this thing try to fire with either?
thanks cyberrkatz

Wow 43 views and no input looks like this forum just likes to look at other peoples posts with no input. This is a joke !!! Forum usally means to discuss problems that other people need help with.
I'm not to good with knowledge about working with cars but I had to replace my fuel pump out of my 1998 chevy blazer 2dr and it was a pretty hefty price. But, it drives now but it just needs some more work done to it.
checked the timing by tdc and checking #1 plug terminal for alingment with the rotor button. timing was good. I know the fuel pump is bad I thought I might have a down cyclinder so I checked the compression cyc1 is only at 30 psi (thats why it won't fire. cyc 2,3 and 4 are 148 psi. So I was thinking bad head gasket or cracked head ( the 2.5 heads are notorious for cracking) so I pulled the oil cap to look for milky oil and found the #1 rocker laying in the vavle cover to discover that the rocker bolt broke replaced the rocker bolt and fuel pump and shes breathing life again after setting in the back yard since 2005 some more small things to do and she should be road ready. thanks to all that replied I was starting to wonder if anybody was going to give some input.
