Default 1996 chevy s10 good deal or not

Im thinking about buying a 1996 chevy s10 extended cab 4x4. Comes withbed liner and cap nice radio has110k miles bad motor rust free, $1500

I think at that point I would be looking at engines and it would also depend what my financial situation would be.

Ican get a motor for it and install it myself just wondering if it would be worth it its got the 4.3 vortec engine.

the 4.3 is fine for most stuff, I even pulled a small boat 18' with one for awhile, the truck was more squirly as an issue then engine power, although the 4.3 did struggle on hills, even with, chip, k&N, Exhaust upgrades.

depends what you intend to use it for. but for basic driving its more then fine.

Im mostly going to use for back and forth driving sometimes towing or hauling, does anyone know the gas mileage on a 4.3 s10 just back forth driving?

gas milage on all my previous 4.3's was less then 20, even with k&N, exhaust, injector flushes, etc...

Thats a pretty good deal on a 96S10 thats rust-free.

I get 21MPG highwaywith my Blazer, which is absolutely great for a 4.3 Vortec...
