1997/2002 transmission?

My transmission is cooked in my 2002. I have access to a 1997 transmission, will it fit? I believe they are both 4l60e's correct? (both are 4x4 btw)

I may be wrong but a 4L60E is a 4L60E the elctronics may have been upgraded between 97 and 02 but that's the only change, the gear ratios are the same throughout.

Thanks for the reply. I spoke to a couple of the local mechanics and they all said the same. The tranny should be here next week.
