1998 chevy s-10 trans slips in od
i have been looking for a solution to the problem below for about 2 weeks now and still have not found a rock solid answer as to what it may be any help would be great
i have the 2.2 s-10 2wd the trans shifts rough from 1-2 and when the trans gets hot like when driving on the interstate shifts breifly from od to 3 or 4th then right back into od. i found a service bulitin that said that it is the valve body but i also know that the tcc silenoid goes out in these too dose anyone know what this may be.
i did pull the engine codes and it gave me a p1870 just trans parts slipping which is what led me to finding the service bulitin.
once again any help would be great thanks guys

Welcome to the forum. What I have to say, you probably won't want to hear. By the valve body, you're probably referring to TSB #01-07-30-023B which is almost 10 years old. As for an electrical problem on the TCC solenoid circuit (wiring or solenoid windings), the PCM will detect it and set another code. A new valve body may help but it won't do anything to worn-out friction surfaces. It's highly probable that yours is due for a rebuild.
