1999 S10 making various noises
My truckhas 204K miles w/automatic transmission. It runsOK despite the high mileage, but there have been some noises coming from it lately that are concerning.Lately when I reverseout of mydriveway and shift from R (reverse) to D (drive) and slightly hit the gas in D I can hear a single "clang"- almost like the sound ofa baseball hitby an aluminum bat. This is the only time I hear that noise, and it seems to be coming from underneath the vehicle.
Also when I accelerate up a slight hill sometimes I can hear a slight constantgrinding noise coming from underneath, towards the rear. I hope it's not my transmission! I just had it serviced a month ago (fluid changed). The onlyservice I haven't received lately that I may need is the rear diff and last I had that done was a few years ago. Any ideas on what the noises might be?
Thanks,
Kevin
