Default 88 s10 4cyl

heres the deal, i workedon this truck like 5 months ago and at the time it was having a problem that it gets up to like 55mph the shift lights pops on and it stalls and wont start up again.Changed plugs, dist, fuel filter and pump, and we swapped ecm's. the only thing i could think of is when the motor gets hot the coil is taking a poop. and advice... i might be buying this truck for dirt cheap.... ps this is one of my dream trucks, ive always wanted a first gen s10. and right now i dont have a car, and my friends gonna pretty much give this to me to work on, and pay him for it when i can...

Definately has to be the coil. The Shift indicator kicks on at a certain point on the tachometer and the tachometer is directly connected to the coil signal. If no tach is present, then you have a sensor that kicks on when the speed of the pusating signal reaches a set point, thus bringing on the light.[/align]
