Hi All,

Funny thing happened yesterday, drove my 95 Blazer 4x4 with 100k on it for about 4 hours on a roadtrip. Drove perfectly fine. Come back to it and it wont start. Thinking it was a dead battery or something I jumped it using my 04 Blazer and it started right up. Later on in the evening same thing, no start when turning the key, not even a click. This time i noticed that the dash indicated that the trans was in Reverse, but the shifter was all the way up in the Park position. I put the shifter in neutral and it started right up. I now have completely lost Park. All other gears work perfect except 1 where the same thing is happening it wont go in to 1 either. It appears as if it is going in, shifter goes all the way up and the key will come out of the ignition, but it will keep rolling unless of course I put the ebrake on. What could have happened?

 

Sounds like a Broken or warn park pin. I had the same problem in my 85 I am not sure exactly how to fix this but hopefully someone can help you out. On my 85 I had to slam it in to park.
