I just pulled the dash in my 96 S series blazer with tilt, and now the key will not move to the locked position or come out and the wheel will not lock. The key is stuck in the cylinder but the blazer starts, shuts off, and shifts fine. I've checked the switch on the shifter and the shifting works fine. Is it a coincidence that the cylinder broke or did I forget to connect something? I've done this before and never had a problem. That's all I really did in the area was drop the column and then put it back up.
