Default 96 Blazer Overheating Problems

I have a 96 Blazer with the standard 4.3L V6. It has a horrible overheating problem and I cannot find a cause. It has actually blown out 4 heater cores. The radiator has been changed, the thermostat has been changed numerous times, the water pump has been changed 2 times, the clutch fan changed and on and on it goes. It has 2 different repair shops baffled. Right now it doesn't have a thermostat in it. I took an old thermostat and cut the center out of it to restrict the flow of water enough to pull off the heat of the block. This worked for 1 day. Now after 5 miles it is overheating again. Strange thing is there is no overflow or coolant leaking from anywhere. Does anybody have any suggestions? Please help I don't need another driveway ornament, I already have my son's 83 Tbird.[&o][&o]
