Default 98 blazer clink noise when accelerating (need help)

Hi i have a 98 chevy blazer lt. When ever i am coasting up a hill then accelerate i get this loud clink noise coming from the passangers side. The noise only happens while i am coasting then accelerate. i replaced the u joints so i know its not that. my truck is 4x4 but i keep it in 2 wheel drive. can having no fluid in my transfer case have anything to do with this? Please any advise would be greatly appreciated.
thanks

Do you have no fluid in your transfer case? That could make all kinds of noises

It does not matter if it is in 2wd the transfer case is still spinning. It is also used to turn the rear drive shaft (not only the front drive shaft). Transmission turns the transfercase which turns the rear shaft (and the front). When your transfer case breaks ( and it will) you will not be driving that truck anymore ( in 2wd or 4wd). If you can not put fluid in it then you need to take it to a shop immediately and have fluid put in it.

so is there most likely damage to my transfer case? and if there is damage to it would it be easy to replace the transfer case. but i also get that same clink noise when i put my truck in reverse from drive.

If there truly is no fluid then yes. If it is not your u-joints then the noise sounds like it is slop in the drive line and most likely in the transfer case. I think you should put it in a shop tomorrow and get someone to check the noise and add transfercase fluid. If not you will need a tow truck very soon. Replacing the transfer case is not going to be cheap.

It depend if you are mechanically inclined. The transfer case is kind of heavy. It would be difficult to bench press(on your back) it into the truck and start a bolt by your self.

ok i took my truck in the shop today and the told me i needed a
front wheel alignment
torson bar adjustment
drivers side ball joints bad top and bottom ones
left axle boot ripped
right axle seal leaking.

i got the alignment done and torson bar adjusment done. so what else can be making this clinking noise when i accelerate when going up a hill?
