Default AC on when vent is on
I'm not sure why, but my air conditioning is running whenever I have the vent on. Any ideas or suggestions as to why this is?

The A/C automatically comes on on most modern vehicles when you have it on defrost, but you say its on vent. Are your head pressures normal?
