Default bad a/c compressor! Just asking????

I have a 99 s-10blazer 4.3 with a/c (bad compressor) bearing inside locked up! My question is, can i bypass the compressor? (like get a belt for one without a/c) & if so,will i need to remove compressor? any input will be appreciated!

You can bypass the compressor, but you will need to remove the compressor and replace with a special pulley that bolts on and a new, smaller serpentine belt. The cost of these two items runs about the same as an Advance Auto compressor. Mine did the same on my 98 and thats what I did.

Is the clutch bearing bad or a bearing inside the compressor? If it is the clutch bearing, just replace it and you are good to go, just don't turn on the A/C. If it is a bad bearing inside the compressor then you are ok as long as the clutch bearing is good.

It's usually just the clutch bearing, pretty easy (cheap) fix.
