Default blazer pics

Haven't posted in a while and I have done some mods and added a few things, so I thought I would post some pics and show my work.

Just took this pic this afternoon, I stripped the black paint off the grille moulding, I think the chrome looks better anyway. I am going to stip the other part back to chrome also, then I am going to paint the impact strip and valance black to match the grille.

I added some 1.25" spacers on the rear wheels to even out the stance. I really like the even look now!

I added two 9" indigo blue led strips inside the gauge cluster that work with the turn signals. They aren't as bright as they seem in the pic, I used my cell camera.

I added some new lights on the safari bar, you can see them in the first pic at the top of the post. The HID's are brighter than they used to because..........

I did the AD244 alternator swap to run all my lights and stereo. The one in the pic is the one I bought off of ebay, the one in the blazer now is a rebulit one pretty much brand new AD244 alternator from Advance Auto, I used this one for the core charge so it evened out in the end. I put in a new tensioner also along with a new fan belt 1" longer to make up for the size of the alternator.

The light bar is not hooked up right now, it's sitting in my attic safely waiting to be installed. In the next few weeks I will install it because I will be entering into the Backwoods Bash car show in Plainfield CT with a group of guys from another forum.

That is pretty much it for now. My plans in the next month are redoing a sub box and getting rid of the gray carpet for some red and black velvet and suede, a taigate fire & ice bar, a new indash pioneer cd player, some white led's in the unused turn signal opening for some fogs. Sorry for the long post and pic hoard, but it's been a while and I have been a busy boy!
Oh, and I am getting a set of 4 door stainless steel nerf bars off of a friend. I will have those in about a month when I meet up with him for the car show.

Welcome back to the forum bud.
The LED strips look ****! (inside joke)

The light bar is definately a nice addition to. Looks a lot better than rack-mounting them.

The only thing I would recommend is masking off and painting the headlight, signal, and taillight surrounds like I did.

Be careful with the turn signals. I'm back to the stockers becuase I melted mine. They looked awesome for about 3 days though! I'm ordering new ones soon and going with LED 9005s instead of incandescents.

I say **** all the time lmao. I said it one day at work to a friend of mine (I have only been there 2 years now) and he looked at me like "WTF did you just say". I explained to him and now he says it lol.

How the heck did you melt your turn signals lol.

I will do the surroundings on the lights. I remember when you posted that back in the .com days. It looked real nice. It'll look good with the chroms moulding too.

A couple of weeks ago, I tried covering the dash bezel with some of the red velvet I bought in an after christmas sale for cheap, but failed horribly. I had to sand all the glue off, and it looked horrible, so I was going to paint it and go to the junkyard the next time I had a chance, but that failed horribly also, so I ran to the junkyard and snagged the only one they had for 20 bucks. It was all good since I found the little trim peice covering the ashtray on the back of the center console and the rubber insert for the cupholder (my cofee mug kept falling over).

Oh, and thanks for the welcome back. I'll try and post here more often as this seems like more of a friendly place and not someplace I will be bashed and called ricer (Brent knows what I mean). Thanks!

I have been there and felt your pain.
Some people I guess are just really immature. Just because your car has halo headlights does not mean its ricey.

Like I said, I got a little too over-zealous putting in 9005s.

lol

This is what she looks like as of yesterday:

I need to re-adjust my front bumper. (look at where the fender ends and bumper begins.
Blazer vs. whitetail pt II. Blazer wins again! Just knocked the bumper out of line.

God, the space on mine is bigger. I am taking the fornt bumper off to paint it, so I will see if I can realign mine also. Must have been some bright bulbs lmao. I hope my led's don't do the same.

AMEN to that! The only thing in my opinion that makes a car ricey is a zip-zip car that is done up very poorly. I have seen some around here, I saw one one time where it was obvious that the kid cut off the springs for a ghetto lowering job cause the car was bouncing like crazy and he bottomed out when he went over a speed bump. I was laughing my *** off. I have seen a honda civic rolling around with a two tone body kit, and stock rims painting bright pink with an aluminum spoiler painted the same pink. The car is dark blue. Butt ugly if you ask me lol. Some are done up real nice though. I actually have a collection of Jada Toys model cars and 3/4 of them are drifting cars and street racing cars.

I accredit my unrivaled reaction time, my tires, and my brakes for avoiding the brunt of the blow. A whole herd was crossing as I came around a blind 45mph curve. Nothing I could do but stomp the brakes to the floor and get up on the wheel to keep from losing the rear-end!

Had I been on the Z28, It would have been totaled.
I almost lost it on the way home from a show when one of my car club buddies stopped short at a red light on his El Camino. It snapped sideways as the brake on the front left locked. All I could do was hold it in my lane and pump the brakes.
It scared the **** out of Kelsey (her dad is in the club), who was riding with me because there wasn't enough room in her dad's 409 or Chuck's Super Bird.

Anyway, we'll catch up as time goes on. lol I'm rambling.

I love halos on anything. I was even trying to see if I could convince my mom to let me put halos and hid's on her Plymouth Voyager. Have you seen the halo headlights for a minivan, they are SWEET!!! The headlights are plastic lenses and they were all yellow and oxidized, so I bought one of those headlight restoration kits for 20 bucks at wal-mart. I cleaned them, sanded them, and polished them and they look brand new. It also came with a polish that acts as a shield to prevent sun damage. I put in silvania silverstar ultras and she is happy with those, so I guess no halos =(. Anyway, you guys can call me Dave. My screenname is the first three letters of my first name and the last three letters of my last name.
