Default a/c keeps blowing the fuse

When I turn the a/c on or of at idle the rpm would fluctuate for a sec. It has alway blown cold. It does click while idling. Just yesterday though is started blowing the ac/htr fuse. I've replaced it 2 x's and it only last about 5 seconds before it blows. Any ideas? I've never messed with the a/c before but I know it's fairly new compresser.

Trying to get the fuse straight you are talking about. With the a/c off, and blower (fan) on, does this blow the fuse?

I was talking about ac on and blower on. But actually I wrote this before I had a chance to look under the hood. When someone put the new compressor in they just strung the new wire across the compartment. It was actually 2 wires connected together and one side fell out of the connector. It was sitting on the metal base of the distributer. Easy fix.

Thanks for your help.
