Ear piercing noise thru the radio of a 2002 blazer???

Ear piercing noise thru the radio of a 2002 blazer???
A buddy of mine is wanting to purchase a 2002 blazer. The only issue with it is there's an ear peircing noise that comes thru the radio when the radio is turned on. It's not an engine noise but a "you gotta plug your ears or you'll go crazy" noise. super loud. Any ideas? Thanks.
