2004 thru 2006 Malibu Maxx radio interference
Hi
Has anybody out there had radio interference on the am band for a 2004 thru 2006 Malibu Maxx (not the (4) door which had a fix for the aerial to widow defogger TSB) that knows of a fix or TSB that corrected this problem? Thanks

I remember you..... https://chevroletforum.com/forum/malibu-15/technical-service-bulletin-19450/
Have you not gotten this fixed yet? You stated in your last message that the problem goes away when you put pressure on the front of the radio...that would tell me that ou have a problem in the radio itself.
You also state that most of your problems come in when driving near power lines. Power lines WILL effect am reception. As well as weather conditions, buildings, interferance from other wireless transmitters\towers. Also if you are more than 60km(37miles?) away from the radio tower, then that am station is considered as a "fringe" station and your are lucky to pick it up let alone not have static.
Now you might say, "well with my last car I could pick it up no problem!". Or "It was fine for the first year, and now its no good". Radios and their antenna parts have changed a great deal as of late. Antennas are designed to pick up FM frequencies. Picking up an AM station is a side effect. Also there may have been some new construction, new hydro wires installed, new cell tower put up, or the radio station itself may have made a few minor changes to the way they broadcast their signal.
