Default Fuel Gauge 1/4 Tank or less

So at 1/4 tank or less my fuel gauge moves everywhere between 1/4 & empty. I don't know when I am really empty & the 'low gas' light comes on.

I heard about a TSB about this. Got TSB PIT-3046E, 3046A, 030849014A, 030848014 but cannot find the fix for it. Called a Chevy dealer & asked about the 1st number & they said there was no record.

Can anyone tell me the fix for this?

The 03-08-49-014A dated Oct-03 says to program the PCM with new calibration. I find it hard to believe the problem is just noticed. The culprit is probably the sending unit.

This has been going on since I got the truck (used) about 2 weeks ago. So where would I go to do that calibration?

Check with your local dealership service department? They'll probably want your VIN but you'll want to make sure they understand that the PCM may not be original.

my 2000 blazer has a similar problem in addition when im at a 1/4 tank or below i must be parked on a level ground or nosed uphill or it will not crank as if its not getting fuel if pushed to a different position it cranks right up, i was told by an ase master tech that a baffle in the fuel tank my be broken and the fuel sloshes around more than usual, i just live with it and mind where i park when 1/4 tank or lower.
