i have two general questions that hopefully someone can answer for me

i have a 2002 chevy s-10, 3 door,6 cylinder vortec engine, 5 speed manual transmission, 2 WD.

1st question:
not too long ago, i replaced the front brakes on the truck (disk brakes). when i bought the brakes the auto part store kept saying "make sure you bleed the brakes". the only question i have to this is where the heck is the bleeder valve?iv'e been driving on these brakes for a year now and i never had any problems. i realize bleeding your brakes is very important but can anyone explain to me where this valve exactly is or even better, does someone have a picture they can share with me on to there this valve is? when i was doing the brakes i even calle dthe auto parts store and they kept telling me wherre it was but i could not see it. can anyone shed some light on this valve for me???

2nd question:
when i was doing routine maintenance on my truck, i replaced the air filter, oil, oil filter. upon looking in the auto part store part locator, it stated that i needed a PCV valve and it gave me a model number of valve that i needed. once buying this, i have yet to find where it goes. ive asked the dealership, and they say it has to be around the valve cover. i figured that but i cannot find one. i have searched in a manual and i can't see specifics on to where it is located. can anyone help me with the location of this?? pictures????

hello the bleeder nipples/ valveare located on the backside of the front roters, they are useually coverd with a small black rubber cap to keep debrie out. the bleeders are on the brake calipperopposit the brake line. it takes a small wrench to open them. just because you replaced the brake pads you dont always have to bleedthe lines.just make sure you have the right amount of brake fluid in the brake resevare.

 

If you don't disconnect the brake linkes and you simply pull the caliper off and change the rotor and the pads, you should have to unless you brake the line.Ifyou ziptied up thecaliper and didn'tlet it hang by the brakelikeyou should be in good shape.
Justmake sure that if you go this way that you pump your brake pedal a few times till it becomes firm again and your off.

Now on to question two:
The PCV valveis on the driver's side on the valve cover. It has a rubber hose going to it. You just pull it out and the pcvwill be on the end of it. Here is a picture of what it should look like (bare in mind that this is a camaro but it will give you idea of kinda what to look for):

Please keep in mind that this is not exactly what it willlooklike and its all I couldfind and thought this would at least give you an idea of what your looking for. DO NOT WORRY ABOUT A. THE B IS WHAT YOUR LOOKING FOR. You are just looking for a hose on the driverside valve cover.

hi muddyblaze, hope you enjoy the chevy forum as mutch as i do. got a quiestion on your replie, more or less - you have (you should have unless you brake the line) did you mean you should'nt or should not have to unless you brake the lines.

 

Shouldn't have tobleed the system. Thanks man for catching that. Yeah I am new here. I just posted in the new members area, it explains about this very thing. I own a blazer, basically an S-10 with an extra seat and a covered bed.lol. So I look forward to workin with ya and helping out any way I can.
