So,I'm thinking of buying a 1989 S10 with a 4.3L(262) 4x4 from one of my buddies.It's a little extended cab.I wanna know how everyone likes their S10 and if anyone has seen and really big problems with this year of the S10s.He said since he's had it he hasn't really had any big problems with it.How's the gas milage on the highway and in the city?It has a automatic transmission in it.Also does anyone know where a good site is to get aftermarket parts for these?I already checked out summit and jegs.But I would like to find more.Thanks a lot everyone.I'm eager to see what you all post.

 

Howdy, the 2 problems I've encounterd with that year 4.3 are valve guides and intake gasket . seams to be a poor desighn. The intake has watter jackets underneath the gaskets that can leak antifreeze into the heads, and the valvesleaves are mad of a softer matterial causeing them to wear faster.
