Replacing the inline fuel filter is easy as long as you don't mind taking a short gas bath. The fuel pump and filter sock in the tank are a PITA to replace because you have to drain the gas tank and drop the tank from under the bed. just to gain access to it. The main thing i say if you're replacing th fuel pump take your time and don't rush through anything to where you have to do it a second time.

You could always pull the bed to do the fuel pump change. I have done it both ways and,the last time the tank was full of gas so I decided to pull the bed instead and actually think that was a lot better to do. Good luck

I actually have a 4 door blazer so no bed to pull. I have made sure my tank has little to no fuel in it so hope it will be a piece of cake

I changed the fuel pump in my '99 Blazer. Not at all difficult. The tank does not have to be completely empty, just light enough to handle. When changing the fuel filter, first disconnect the negative battery cable, then remove the fuel filler cap, then relieve the pressure in the system by removing the cap on the fuel pressure connection valve (located under the hood, inline in the metal fuel line running to the throttle body) and pressing in on the valve core (wear safety glasses). When you loosen the filter connections, you will still have a small amount of fuel leaking from the fuel filter and lines, but you will avoid the fuel bath caused by opening the connections while the system is under pressure.
