Which oil pan for my 2000 Blazer 4x4??
I had a slight accident in my 2000 Blazer 4x4. There were some guys back in the woods hunting coons and I thought they were on our property but when I got back there they were not. So, on my way back home I hit a slightly large rock that was hidden by the cut corn stalks. It took out the drain plug and about a 3" hole is now in my oil pan. I have been searching online and at parts stores and have found 2 different oil pans that are OE replacements. 1 is an all steel oil pan and the other is the factory aluminum one and it's about $110 more.
What, if any, differences are there other than price and weight to using the steel oil pan? I don't have a bunch of money to spend but I want to make sure it's right. I don't go off road much but when I do it's usually during the daytime so last night was a freak accident. The wife is beyond P.O'd right now.
