Default Power Drains

So tonight when I got off work I noticed the weirdest thing going on with my truck and I haven’t seen it happen in vehicles before.

So I have a 1,000 Watt Amp and a 1,400 watt Sub hooked up in my truck and I don’t have it very loud but tonight I realized that every time the sub hits my lights dim.

The head unit, radio, CD player, whatever you want to call it is hardwired, the power is attached to the hazard fuse because at the moment of install I had a bad ground or something going on but ya, the amp is hooked straight to the battery with a MAXI fuse in between. I am not sure how old the battery is but don’t think it should really matter. The voltage gauge reads 14 volts when the truck is on and im nut sure what it reads while in accessory position.

Just wondering if I should be worried about the power drain, it also does it while driving and I think it could be a bit hazardous for other drivers with my lights blinking on and off.

I can try to take a video tomorrow but like I said I was wondering if there is anything I can do to help solve the problem.

thats fairly common with large stereo systems, you should install a capistor on the power cable

That is what I meant when I said power inverter I have heard of it happening but I have had this same setup in two different vehicles and I have never needed to use the capacitors but ill be going to get one here soon. I might swap the system out to the Malibu because I hardly drive the truck anywhere but to work and back or to pick up materials and we use the Malibu so much more.
