Default Project S10

Ok I pulled the crap auto out of the broketie ****10 and put a five speed in the auto had the speedo cable the manual has a speed sensor no biggie my question is what is this electrical plug it's square has four but only uses two prong the manual transmission has a spot for a two prong do I need to splice and swap does it really matter at all keep in mind my truck is an 88 and this manual transmission is roughly 93 i just wanna know what this is for and just how important it is

not sure what year youre working on but it could be for the T/C lockup. the manual might be for a rev switch or neutral switch

if its for the automatic i would wrap tape around it to keep dirt and grime out of it and try to tuck it out of the way.
