Default Removing Window Regulator

I'm having trouble getting my window regulator out of the truck! I have a 99 Blazer, have everything done up to the step that says: Remove Window Regulator. It's just not coming out. Any Suggestions?

Hi

Sorry to ask, have you Drill out the rivets that secure the window regulator to the door?
Remove the power window motor, if equipped.

yes, I've drilled out the rivets, but I can't get the motor out. It's really close for the wheel on the bottom track, i just can't get it the last little bit.

I read that you weren't supposed to remove the motor from the regulator, because of the coil mounted spring, is that right?

[ol]Drill a hole through the window regulator and the sector gear.

Install a bolt and a nut through the hole in order to lock the sector gear in position.
Drill out the rivets that secure the power window motor to the window regulator.
Remove the power window motor from the window regulator. [/ol]

I can do this while the regulator and motor are still in the blazer? I just want to check, because I read a lot on being careful about the regulator arms. Thanks for your help!

I'm actually trying to remove the regulator and motor from the door. I'm replacing both the regulator and the motor. I have the whole piece free, but can't get it off the tracks.

I made the mistake of not securing the spring before removing the motor from the regulator gear removed from the left rear passenger door window of a 1998 Chevrolet Suburban. That coil snaps hard, but I wasn't in the way. I would have never seen it coming. Later I read about the danger of laceration of fingers. The replacement process is described here. The mounting frame required the center to be held on the post at an angle, but just barely while the coil was cranked around the to the opposing retainer post. About a third of the way around the mounting frame was thinner and it was possible to get the center of the coil further into the slot. Narrow vice grips were used, clamped to half the width of the coil, to hold the center of the coil in the post slot, and the entire regulator rig was clamped down to the counter. Ordinary pliers and the grip of death were used to extend the coil to the retainer post while keeping constant pressure on the vice grips. Ordinary vice grips will be too wide to allow the stretched coil to pass through the opening while being held. Ordinary pliers did work.
