replace blown engine with which other years?

I have a 99 s10 4x4 with 4.3 engine . I am looking for the simplest engine to replace it with. In other words, as close to a "drop-in" as i can find. Or what is the next best choice ??

I'd stay with the 4.3 liter motor myself. Its a good motor for smaller Chevy's
