Default Replacing a 99 s10 computer

Hey i am in need of some help,

Tomorrow morning im supposed to be replacing a computer in a 99 s10 with the 4 cylinder in it. My question is will i have to get the computer reprogrammed, the computer that i am installing came off of a 99 s10 so it is used and i just done know what i would have to go and get it reprogrammed.

typically, the OBDII computers won't need reprogramming IF the one being used is from same year, engine size AND emissions status. these systems can adjust themselves easy enough without harm. but, you cannot use a v6 computer in a 4 cyl truck and so on. if the one you are using is from an exact truck, should be ok.
