Is there different gear ratio between a 1992 and 1994 s-10 transmission?
I swapped out my 1992 transmission with a 1994 and it appears that there is a difference in the gears. Example
3<SUP>rd</SUP> now (1994 trany) it feels like my old 4<SUP>th</SUP> (1992 trany)

 

are we talkin auto or stick trans?

 

5 speed standard, my old trany seem to have more acceleration, I think I could have burned a tire if I wanted to, now, just dont seem to be the same. I trying to figure out if it's just in my head. or if there is a difference in the gear ratio of the trany.

 

Sounds like the new one does have higher gearss.

 

very possible it has different gears. the 92 motor is throttle body, whereas the 94 is the vortec. they probably changed gears in tranny because the 94 motor makes a bit more power.
