Security light Malfunction
I have a 2001 Blazer, 4.3,auto. The security light comes on with the ignition, stays on solid(no flashing) but the truck starts and runs.
I need to sell it, but I want to figure out the light problem. any suggestions?

The security light is a problem that I can't find any answer to. I have scoured the forums and all I see is, essentially, "Why did GM create such a liability for its customers?".
That light on my 99 blazer was on when I got it and it has remained on for the past two years. I expected it to shut down the fuel pump at any moment, but it hadn't until today!
This morning, I thought I'd erase the "Check Engine" light because I had replaced the gas cap. Using TorqueLite, I did so and, (ta da!) engine now refuses to run.
Snow coming; no four-wheel drive vehicle.
I had put a resistor across the key barrel wiring to prevent this happening (obviously to no avail), so I guess my first step is to restore the original wiring just in case.
So, presently, I can't help.
