Default Transmission leak

I have an automatic 2000 s10 xtreme which is leaking trans. oil from this weird looking cover. It looks like an atomic symbol it has a center with 3 legs on the sides. It doesn't look like it screws out but who knows. Please look at the pics. I just bought this truck and the leak is driving me crazy. Please get back to me if you know what it is and if I just need to go to an auto parts store and buy it. Thanks

Thats at the base of the bellhousing. Are you sure its leaking there and not running down from the pan gasket and dripping off of it? Clean it up really good and then try to localize it.
I don't even know what that part is called.... I raped google trying to find out.

the only way it can leak out of there is if the input seal is leaking or they vented the tranny in the bellhousing and its overfull

I thought I had the same problem. Turns out that the venting tube was disconected from its spot. Not sure if that helps.

Its mounted ontop of the transmission/transfer case. I just pulled the lines off a 98 jimmy and the "vent tube" was connected to what looked like vac lines to the transfer case. It was split off by a "y" connector and then running to the side of the transmission. If you follow the line, it will come up under the hood right beside the dipstick for the tranny. I traced mine back and found the the line had made contact with a hot exhaust pipe and had broken free from the tranny.

Kinda hard to get too, can't really see anything, got to go by feel. will try to find a pick and post it.
