Default Transmission Shifting Problem

Hello all, I have a a problem with my transmission. I have a 2004 Blazer 4x4 with 118,000 miles. Around 95,000 my transmission went out completly. I had a rebult transmission put in. A couple days ago it started acting up. I have not done any servicce to the transmission since the rebult was put in. I checked the fluid level and it's fine. The color looks good and didnot notice any smell. No check engine light on. I used my Cen-Tech Code Reader and there was no coeds or pending codes.

The transmission will shift into 2nd but not 3rd or 4th. If I keep the RPM around 1600 after about 20 to 30 seconds the transmission will shift. There is no slipping or noises from the transmission. If I put the shift lever into 3 it still won't shift into 3rd. I didn't try this position when I terst drove it so it may shift into 3rd if I keep the RPM around 1600.

Could there be a code that will not trigger a check engine light? If so shouldn't my coder at least show a code?

Thank You
Jim
