I just put a new battery in my blazer and the voltage meter is running at around 10 v. The gauge does not fluctuate when its running... but if the dome lights are on and I flick on the four ways the dome light flickers... but it did that before that I replaced the battery... Please advise... I don't want to have to junk it... I love my blazer.

Use a voltmeter to see what the voltage is at the battery while the truck is running. Should be between 13-14.5V. Anything lower than that and your looking at replacing your alternator

 

Thank you. I guess that means we are going to be rebuilding the alternator. I so look forward to that task. But hey it's cheaper that way. Now to corner my son long enough to get him to rebuild it.

Have you checked it with a voltmeter? Do not trust the voltmeter in the dash to get accurate info.
