Wiring inline fuel pump. 01 blazer
Hey everyone, new here
so I bought an 01 blazer real cheap that the previous owner said had a bad fuel pump.
I noticed the security light flashing so figured I could do the simple re-wire & key on, key off process to bypass the passlock system. No luck. Tested the fuel pump, no good. Bought a new pump, was bad in box. Returned and got another, tested good, wired a new power source to pump and still won't prime. Thinking there's an issue with the wire harness or grounds. I have a new inline fuel pump laying around so i figure, screw it ill put that in for now untill next payday and i can get a new harness, lines, and replace theft system.
I need this thing running now to get to work and get my kids to school ect..
I'm just curious what would be the best, easiest place to wire my new power source from for a temporary fix. Go straight from battery with an inline fuse & toggle switch? Or is there a easy place I wouldn't need the toggle switch? Has to be somewhere convenient Don't really like the idea of sticking the wire end into a fuse socket
thanks!

Also, the security light will stay on, solid, for HOURS with key turned to on or off. When I tried to get it to "relearn" after splicing the yellow into the orange/black, the security light quit blinking went solid, and has not turned off since.
maybe a symptom I shouldn't ignore?

if the theft light is on continously; there is a fault with the theft deterrent system. have the codes read...a full function scan tool is required to access body codes.
i could be wront....not sure if the theft deterrent disables the fuel pump....think its only the injectors...if this is so you would have fuel pressure...the vehicle would start then stall.
get all the codes read first before you replace anything...if you go to all this trouble and wire in an inline pump and its still a no go due to the theft deterrent disabling injectors...then what?

From what I read it is just the fuel pump that it effects, but that could of been bad info. It started then stalled once, now nothing, no prime for fuel
either way I have power to fuel pump. I will try to find a scan tool, but a tow to the part store/scan tool will cost more than I paid for the vehicle. Lol
tha la for the input!
