So... how many horse power is this thing producing?

That depends on the size of the horse! In standard horsepower, zero.

It consumes 4.5 volts DC at ~3 amps.

 

where's all that noise coming from, sounds pretty loud like an engine

 

It's about 40 pounds of injection-moulded plastic, sitting on a slightly uneven plastic table, with tons of moving parts, and there are nine 4.5-volt motors running at about 3 amps. Ergo the noise. I do use silicon spray lube. It helps a lot.

 

It looks so cool!
