my new ele. fans
so i ordered some procomp 16" fans 2500 cfm from ebay $97 including shipping..not too bad plus it was a kind of eassy install.. i wcoudnt use the thermostat kit they sent. the senser was too small for my intake. so i just wired it up to a switch for now.. i'v yet to get ti hot enough to actually use them. anyway..heres some pics excuse the muddy-ness and the 400 zipties...didnt have any ducttape..LOL
nice stuff man, I have a very similiar set up in my k5. My transmission teacher was throwing away a set of dual fans so I grabbed em, I love em. Did you set them on seprate switches? I have mine set up so I can just run one for my radiator and trans cooler and its plenty to keep both nice and cool, but on really hot days the motor will get a little hotter so I kick the second fan on. Who needs a temp switch?
wish i got mine for free lol.. but no i got mine set into 1 switch they work great and sound like a jet trying to take off haha i got alot more hp/tq outta the deal i can deff. feel it. even tho its probably only 20hp n tq. and i wanted the temp switch so i could be lazy n not watch the temp gauge lol but o well they still work
I'm intrested to see if your mileage increases. I've been wanting to get rid of my clutch fan in my 99 jimmy, not for power since I have the horribly underpowered 4.3L (power of a 4 cyl with the mileage of an 8 cyl, isn't that supposed to be reversed?)
Right now I get about 18.5 mpg and I'd like to see 20 out of it. Jegs has a pretty nice single fan for something like $70 and its another $50 for the relay/temp switch kit. Keep us posted on any mileage gains you see.
