Fuel pump

Fuel pump
hi everyone, I'm new to this forum thing so I'm sorry if I'm making mistakes. My name is Frank and I'm working on my nephew's car. It's a 2005 Aveo, 1.6 L engine standard shift. The problem that I'm having is that the fuel pump wont stay running after start up. I can order it to run with my scanner but as soon as the run command times out the pump shut down. I have a few questions.
Is the oil pressure sensor involved in keeping the fuel pump running after start up? Or is it that the ecu might use the ignition signal to keep the pump running after start up. I'm getting different opinions on both. if it's the ign signal does any one know which pin number on the ecu it might be. Where can I obtain a decent shop manual for this car. Please help. Thank you.

Thank you all for your assistance. I replaced the fuel pump relay just in case. It seemed to be a weak link. The car does not have an immobilizer which could be a reason why the pumps may not run. I've chased down many leads as this is very intermittent. He's afraid to use the car because it fails to start every so often. Right now it's working fine. Do to your assistance I found the original factory service manual. Ever since I forced the pump to run using my scanner it seems to be working fine. If anything changes I'll report back. Thank you again for your assistance
