How do I install this fuel pump
I got a replacement fuel pump for my 2002 1500 Silverado 4.8L the new pump has one 4 wire harness the old one has 7 two separate one with 4 and one with 3 I understand the 3 wires are for the ECM is there a way I can wire this up all together to plug into the new 4 pin harness or can I use the knockout on the new pump and add the 3 wire harness?

Welcome from Florida. i would use the correct pump and not play with the wires. I did as little research and found that the 2 plug 7 wire connector fuel pump was in the truck with the 6.2 engine. Maybe that 4.8 is not the original engine.

Either you purchased the wrong fuel pump or you were given the wrong fuel pump.
The fuel pump you need has 2 electrical connectors - one for the fuel pump itself (12 VDC) and the fuel level sending unit, and the second connector is for the fuel tank pressure sensor.
I would return the fuel pump to wherever you purchased it and either get a refund or the correct fuel pump assembly. My advice is to purchase a GM Genuine/AC Delco OEM fuel pump, Part number MU1613. Purchasing any other brand fuel pump is risky in that the quality of aftermarket fuel pumps (including Bosch and Delphi) is not what they used to be, and you really do not want to have to replace the fuel pump again in the near future, This is one part that is worth spending the extra money on in order to get a quality part. Also, off brand fuel pumps are a crap shoot and the odds of them lasting is against you.
Good Luck!
