windshiled washer pump
Hello; Noticed blue tinged drip on my carport floor. Right under the washer fluid tank. Spent a couple hours removing battery, battery tray and finally the washer fluid tank. The tank was fine with no holes or splits. Signs of a leak around the base of the pump. Put everything back so I could use the truck.
Went to a parts store and got a new pump. Here is the point of this post. I was able to get at and remove the old pump then replace the new pump with the tank in place. Took maybe 15 minutes. A bit tight but doable. $20 for a new pump.
Took the old pump apart. Best I can tell is a rubber O ring somehow was out of place and the side of the housing was split which holds the lower section of the pump in place. The old pump was working ( pumping) so i siliconed the O ring in place and threw it in my spare parts bucket.
