Default Weird silverado universal joint size?

My '99 4x4 Silverado (extended cab, 5.3L) has two universal joints on the front driveshaft that are much bigger than the universal joints the parts stores tell me are correct, and I cannot figure out what is going on here because no one seems to know what the correct universal is for the front and rear universals on the front driveshaft.

The dimensions on the u-joints that I pulled out are 3.750" width and length, with 1.125" Caps.

Any replacement universal for the front driveshaft will need two inside clips (two posts strap into saddle on front differential yoke); and any replacement universal on the front driveshaft, at the transfer case spline end, will need four c-clips.

Maybe someone changed the front axle/differential and therefore this is not a Silverado front driveshaft and/or differential/axle but maybe out of some other Chev 4x4??

It looks like original GM u-joints that came out, because the one has that funky metal strap goping from one cap across to the other.

Anyone have a CLUE as to what is going on here, why I cannot find these parts?

Or .. fingers crossed .. know where I can find them??

Help!!

Thanks very much in advance!!

Don

are you calling the parts store or doing a visual at the store? i know you said yours measures 3.75" but the parts stores might be measuring inside lock ring to inside lock ring which might only be 2.5". if theres no snap rings then they measure from end of cap to end of cap
