04 chevy 1500 4x4-I was driving at about 25mph and I looked down at the speedometer and it was at 80 mph,I went a little faster and it went up over 120.I stopped and shut off the truck and it stayed at 120.I drove off at about 10mph and it went down to 70.Now it starts at 60 and goes up but will not go below 60.Whats wrong?

 

I had the same problem. It's common for the little motors in the guages to act up.You can either replace the motor, or take it apart and use a contact spray on it. It's a little more labour intensive, but it's definitely cheaper.

 

My brother in law had the same issue. He bought the motors for $70 and he knew how to solder. He fixed it himself. It was not very difficult to replace.

 

Just don't go to the dealership. They will hand you a pile of sh*t, saying they have to send it away to have them recalibrated..blah, blah, blah. You know what I mean.
